Curriculum Description The Pre-Algebra course utilizes Teaching Textbooks Curriculum. This is a comprehensive mathematics curriculum and covers all the mathematics topics needed to be successful in Algebra 1. In addition, the program utilizes a computer to track the student’s progress with lesson problems and tests scores. Furthermore, an automatic grade book feature generates reports for practice problems (which are optional), assigned problems, and quizzes. The final percentage score does not include the practice problems. Also, the curriculum is student and parent friendly. For instance, the grade book can be edited, so the parent or teacher can delete the record for a problem or an entire lesson if students need to redo them. Moreover, the program contains step-by-step video lectures explaining all the mathematical concept introduced in each chapter as well as tutorial videos for every problem in the program. The students can watch and re watch the lesson videos as many times as they need in order to ensure mastery. In total, the Teaching Textbooks program contains over 150 hours of recorded tutorial videos covering every problem in the program. It is as if the student has “on call” access to his or her own private. Furthermore, students are able to check their accuracy after each math problems which provides immediate and much needed feedback for the student motivating them to want to learn more. This comprehensive tutorial support ensures the student will understand the material and, in turn, benefiting the parent that might struggle with teaching their student difficult mathematical concepts.
