My name is Joe Komarnicki – pronounced “komar – nicki,” and I am excited to be the new math teacher at PCLC!
I am married to Linda, and we have three children (17, 14, & 10). Our children have attended classes at PCLC since its inception, and plan to complete our children’s homeschool education there till they all graduation. We love the amazing staff at the campus, and I am blessed to be joining the team.
Professionally, I hold both a general and special ed teaching credential and have taught in both the public school and special education systems since 1991. I recently was blessed to be able to join the charter school system and I believe my varied experience has prepared me to be an effective educator.
I believe learning and communication exist in a reciprocal relationship. In other words, it is extremely difficult to have effective learning take place without a safe, encouraging, and mutually respectful relationship. Students will receive instruction if they know they are respected, protected, and valued.
In addition, a dynamic indicator for student success is having high achievement expectations. Therefore, it is my goal to provide a learning environment that is nurturing as well as academically rigorous.
I want to extend a heart-felt welcome to all my parents and student. Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns. I look forward to working closely with you to help your child succeed.
